Starflower Oil, also known as borage oil, is extracted from the seeds of the borage plant. It contains the richest source of gamma linolenic acid (GLA). It has a much higher content of GLA than Evening Primrose Oil. GLA cannot be produced by the body, so we must consume enough GLA within our diet or take supplements containing GLA. GLA is converted into Prostaglandin, a hormone-like substance which has been believed to provide numerous health benefits. Starflower Oil contains added Vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant that provides protection of cells from oxidative stress.
